Some girls receive guidance from a few good women including a mother, teachers, and community leaders who surround them as they mature. Far too many girls today have no such support network. WOMEN IN THE MAKING Clubs are weekly service-learning meetings where girls find a sense of belonging while learning the life skills and personal character traits of confident and capable women.
STARTING A CLUB IS EASY
1. Become a Member
Registering a WOMEN IN THE MAKING Club is easy and you can start anytime. Simply complete the contact form and a 1M Mentoring Foundation director will contact you to discuss the club's size and to answer your questions.
2. Gather the girls
WOMEN IN THE MAKING Clubs range in size. In addition to the mentee, mentors are needed to guide the club through the activities and conversations that develops the life skills and strong character in club members. Mentors are women who connect with the girls by coming along side to guide them in practicing the life skills and character traits of confident capable women. WOMEN IN THE MAKING Clubs are usually made up of 1 mentor per 9 mentees.
3. Order the Club kits
Each WOMEN IN THE MAKING Club member needs a Club Kit. Packed with stuff girls actually want, Club Kits are designed to kickstart the club’s bond and shared sense of identity. Club Kits are only $35 each and include a sized t-shirt, wristband, stickers, hair/head band or lanyard, and a signed copy of The GIRL’S GUIDE TO CONQUERING LIFE book. Adult mentor’s Club Kits also come complete with Activity Guides and quarterly Impact Studies to measure outcomes related to student attendance, discipline, academic growth, and engagement.
